Texas A&M Medical Student Health Plan

Welcome Medical Students

Dear Texas A&M Medical Student,

The Insurance Company of Scott & White (ICSW) offers you medical coverage, prescription drug coverage and optional dental coverage for all students. 

NEW STUDENTS:

  • You will need to complete your enrollment forms and return the Automatic Payment System Form (APS) if you wish to have the monthly health insurance and optional dental insurance premiums deducted from a checking account. A checking account may be your own, your parents or another person who will be paying your monthly premium. Bank drafts occur between the 4th and 9th of each month.
  • You may also pay for the entire school year by submitting a personal check or money order, payable to the Insurance Company of Scott & White (ICSW) for the correct amount and include your payment with the enrollment form.

Please return your enrollment forms, APS form, or a personal check or money order for the entire school year no later than July 13, 2012 in order for your coverage to begin August 1, 2012. You may email the forms to hponline@swmail.sw.org, fax to (254) 298-3567, or mail the completed forms to one of the addresses below.

RETURNING STUDENTS: 

  • You will not have to re-enroll in your medical insurance this school year! We now have automatic enrollment which allows you to continue your health coverage from year to year unless you need to terminate your coverage due to a change in family status or if you are graduating. You will need to notify the Insurance Company of Scott & White if this occurs.
  • We offer optional dental coverage for an additional monthly premium. If you choose to enroll in the dental insurance you will need to complete a dental enrollment form and return by June 22, 2012 for an effective date of July 1, 2012.
  • If your premiums were automatically drafted you will not have to complete another APS form unless your bank draft information has changed. If you paid for the entire school year with a check or money order you will need to submit another check or money order for this school year by June 22, 2012.
